Ranveer-Deepika say no to gifts at reception, ask guests to donate to charity
The stage is set and Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are ready to take their relationship to the next level. Bollywood’s Bajirao and his Mastani will tie the knot at Lake Como in Italy on November 14 and 15 in the presence of family and close friends.
After their intimate wedding in Italy, the lovebirds will throw a lavish reception for their Bollywood friends on November 28 in Mumbai. While Ranveer and Deepika are busy with wedding festivities, preparation for their Mumbai reception is already underway. The invites have been sent out to their B-Town buddies.
The couple has asked their guests to not get any gifts for the reception, instead become a part of a larger cause. They have given their B-Town friends the opportunity to make donations to Deepika’s non-profit organisation The Live Love Laugh Foundation – that spreads awareness about mental health.
A source close to the couple told a leading daily, “Since they are both from non-filmy families, they wanted a quiet wedding away from the prying eyes of the world. The Mumbai and Bengaluru receptions though will be a snazzy affair.”
“Among the many things, the bride and groom have requested the guests to not shower them with gifts. If they wish to give them anything, they’ve requested that donations be made to Deepika’s foundation that actively works towards creating awareness and removing the stigma around depression. Both Ranveer and Deepika are deeply committed to the cause and want to involve all their guests in the good deed,” the source added.
Apart from Mumbai reception, the couple will also host a reception at Deepika’s hometown on November 21
